Overview
The school curriculum at Big Apple is updated frequently to include new teaching methods while retaining those that have proved valuable. Teachers are encouraged to exercise their judgment and imagination in order to provide a stimulating class atmosphere. The academic program gives important consideration to each child’s capabilities and limitations; standards for each grade level are outlined and maintained. The academic goal is a structured program aimed at giving a solid foundation in the core subjects.
Greenfield is divided into five “schools.”

Big Apple Goals and Objectives
Big Apple provides for its students an innovative and carefully structured educational program. In the 16 years that a child may spend at Big Apple, he or she can have a stimulating experience learning in a warm, friendly environment under the guidance of carefully chosen teaching staff. The school’s goals and objectives are as follows:
- To provide sound, traditional academic training in the core subjects and the fine arts.
- To be committed to the importance of each student as an individual.

Grades at Big Apple are based on the following system:
Exceptional work: neat, prompt, thorough, accurate to a high degree; shows initiative, intellectual curiosity and comprehensive grasp of concepts.

NIGERIAN CURRICULUM
The Nigerian curriculum provides opportunities for students to study different subjects, ranging from junior to senior secondary schools.
The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), is an agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria charged with the responsibility of implementing educational policies in Nigeria.
NERDC has the statutory responsibility to develop, review and enrich curriculum at all levels;
At NTIC, students in the final class of junior secondary school (JSS3) write the mandatory exam set by Basic Education Certificate Examination(BECE)/ Education Resource Centre (ERC). Likewise, at the end of senior secondary school, attention is given to external exams conducted by accredited bodies such as National Examination Council (NECO), West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The school also emphasizes extracurricular activities in sports, music, Arts and Culture, Volunteer work and Community Service.
