International Student Recruitment Agreement between Big Apple and The prospective Student and Parent

This Student Recruitment Contract (“Contract or Agreement”) is between the Big Apple College (“ A subsidiary of Big Apple College of Trades and Technology”) Study Abroad Program Center (“Recruiter”), a High School / Secondary School institution in Ibadan Oyo State, Incorporated at Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)  Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Prospective Student and Parent’s

Prospective Student Name ————————————————–and Parent’s Name ———————— that you have read and understood the Agreement, accept the Agreement, and agree to be bound by it. If you don’t agree (or cannot comply with) the Agreement, then your Agreement with Big Apple will be terminated and we may not recruit Prospective Students to Programs offered by US Colleges and Universities.

  1. General Obligations

Big Apple (Recruiter) shall:

  1. A) At all times provide accurate information about US College and University Programs. Give Prospective Students, before they complete an application, accurate information about:
  2. The University and their facilities, equipment, the Programs and resources;
  3. The University’s’ relevant tuition and fees and refund requirements;

III.           Living in the US, including information about campus location and costs of living;

  1. The minimum level of English language ability, educational qualifications and work experience required for acceptance into a Program; and
  2. Visa requirements which must be satisfied by a Prospective Student, including that Prospective Students must have a primary purpose of studying and must study on a full-time Study basis (and the Big
  3. At all times comply with the guidelines for certified agents set forth in the National Association for College Admission Counselling (NACAC) Code of Ethics and Professional Practices.

VII.         At all times comply with the guidelines for certified agents set forth in the College Admission Counselling (ICEF) Code of Ethics and Professional Practices.

VIII.        At all times Big Apple maintains confidentiality of identifying and personal information except with student’s explicit consent or when otherwise legally mandated.

IX            Big Apple represent itself for the purpose of recruiting students as described herein, but not as an employee, branch or office of US College and University.

  1. B) Big Apple Prohibitions
  • The Big Apple will not engage in any dishonest practices, including suggesting to Prospective Students that they can come to the US on a student visa with a primary purpose other than full time study;
  • Big Apple will not encourage Prospective Students, who do not comply with academic, English language or visa requirements, to submit applications;
  • Big Apple will not make any representations or offer any guarantees to Prospective Students about whether they will be granted a student visa;
  • Big Apple will not engage in false or misleading advertising or recruitment practices;
  • Big Apple will not make any inaccurate claims of any US Colleges or University ;
  • Big Apple will not undertake any advertising or promotional activity about the Programs or the University without the prior written consent of the institutions. Advertising or promotional activities is at Big Apple’s expense.
  • Big Apple will not Release or disclose the Educational Records of any student without the express written authorization of that student and the parent;
  • Big Apple will handle and submit student academic records, complete student applications on their behalf;
  • Big Apple is prohibited from charging any additional fees other than the agreed upon annual tuition rate for the Program, collecting an application or other fees that exceed those of the institution and from taking any portion of a prospective student’s scholarships.
  • Big Apple will maintaining confidentiality of identifying and personal information except with student’s explicit consent or when otherwise legally mandated.
  1. Termination
  • Big Apple also can immediately terminate this Agreement in the event that Student and the parent become subject to, violation and code of conduct.
  • This working relationship begins upon signing of the agreement, and normally ends upon a
  • Student’s commitment to a specific college or university, unless otherwise mutually decided in advance. The family has the right to terminate this agreement at any time. Big Apple may choose to terminate the agreement if the family is not fulfilling its responsibilities.
  1. Compliance with Laws

Big Apple shall be fully responsible for all acts in performing the Services shall:

  1. At all times comply with any applicable laws and/or regulations in the US and in each jurisdiction in which we operates
  2. At all times comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”), 20 U.S.C. § 1232g, and its implementing regulations, 34 C.F.R. § Pt. 99.
  3.  Big Apple’s responsibilities do not include:
  • Guarantee of admission to particular schools.
  • Influencing college admissions officers.
  • Writing essays.
  • Writing letters of recommendation.

 

Big Apple Study Abroad Services Agreement Student and family’s responsibilities include:

  • I understand that I am responsible for any criminal, illegal or unauthorized acts by me during departure, arrival and study period, including but not limited to any terrorist act, hijacking or sabotage.
  • I understand that I should be  consistent, timely communication with during the application process.

  • I authorize and consent that Big Apple may release my Application, supporting documentation, and education records to institution(s) as needed to administer my enrollment and participation in my educational program. I reserve my right to request identification of any such records shared, including when and to whom.
  • I am subject to the US laws including state and county laws and the institution you attend. I  understand that I am expected to act in a truthful, ethical, and conscientious manner
  • I am expected to complete applications and submitting supporting materials (e.g., transcripts, test scores, essay, letters of recommendation) prior to deadlines.
  • I understand that I must Supply background information to Big Apple as may be requested by the institution (e.g., parent and student questionnaires, transcripts, test scores, high school profile).
  • I understand that I am expected to notify Big Apple of college acceptances and of the student’s final decision.
  • I understand that family’s violation of the agreement, particularly item #1 (consistent communication) or #2 (truthful/ethical behavior) may be grounds for termination of this agreement
  • I understand that Big Apple’s recommendations are based on the accuracy of information provided by the student’s school principal, school teacher, subject teacher, school counselor and/or clergy. Personnel.
  • I understand and agree to visit the university or college’s website for deep understanding of the institution. To the conditions stated above. I agree to pay:
  • I understand that Big Apple will review academic records, psychological evaluations (if applicable), test scores and other materials relevant to college selection.
  • I understand that Big Apple will ensure detailed assessment of the student’s needs, consultations with teachers and other professionals when appropriate.
  • I understand that Big Apple will Assists with applications, including review of student essays and practice for college interviews.
  • I understand that Big Apple will screen prospective students for financial assets, qualifications for admission to the University, and English language proficiency, to the extent possible. Big Apple will make reasonable efforts to assure that the applications submitted to the University are complete. Recruiter shall accurately communicate the requirements of the University, including the SAT/TOEFL/IELTS score requirements, to the prospective international student.
  • HEALTH INSURANCE
    Health insurance is required for all international students and their dependents in the U.S. All students will be required to purchase  health insurance plan.
